What Items Can You Shred?

Some typical items to shred include: expired paperwork, old tax receipts, draft plans or documents with confidential information, utility statements, bank statements, sticky notes with old passwords, application forms, old/expired insurance papers or transfer forms, and any documents you don't want falling into the wrong hands.

What Can NOT Be Shredded?

All shredded fibre will be sent to recycling plants and turned into useful new paper-based items. Because of this, it is essential that no plastic of any kind including photo negatives are included in the bag. Bales that contain plastic must be incinerated. Our powerful shredders can handle metal clips, paper clips and staples, and these items are acceptable.

What If I Miss The Shred Day Event?

If you miss the Shred Day Event, please get in touch with Interior Vault directly to set up a time to drop off your Security Shred Bag. It may also be possible to hand it to an Interior Vault Driver. Please ask for details.

Do You Recycle The Paper?

Yes! All shredded fibre is carefully recycled. Did you know that by recycling 1 ton (2,000 lbs) of paper you can save approximately 17 mature trees, save 7,000 gallons of water, 4,100 kilowatt-hours of electricity, and 3 cubic yards of landfill space? Those 17 trees can also absorb 250 pounds of carbon dioxide annually!
